CARSON, California – The Los Angeles Galaxy hired midfielder Aleksandar Katai, following the departure of the Chicago Fire Serbian.
The Galaxy announced the agreement on Tuesday and to hire the veteran the team will use the allocation money granted by the MLS.
Katai, 28, arrived in Chicago as a loan from Spaniard Alavés in February 2018, and in two seasons with the Fire he added 18 goals in 62 games.
The Galaxy hopes that the midfielder will give a boost to a depleted offensive. The club lost its two top scorers, the Swedish Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the Mexican Uriel Antuna, while its main owner, the French Romain Alessandrini, has not renewed with the club.
In addition to Alavés, Katai had previously played with the Red Star of Belgrade and in Greece with Platanias and Olympiacos.
