Galaxy S22: Samsung Wants More Snapdragon and Less Exynos!?

It’s not that long before we start to know some more information about the new generation of smartphones Samsung Galaxy S, named S22.

After all, if all goes well, the announcement will take place as early as January, with stock hitting shelves even before the end of that month.

However, it seems that Samsung is going to change its strategy a little, which is most likely related to its production difficulties, namely on the 5nm lines. After all, it looks like we’re going to have a bigger bet on Qualcomm chips (Snapdragon 898) rather than the ‘in-house’ Exynos processors.

Something a little strange, given that the Galaxy S22 range of smartphones should be the first to feature the top powerful SoC Exynos 2200.

Therefore, as is normal in the world of high-end Samsung Galaxy smartphones, as is the Galaxy S range, smartphones are always divided into units equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs, and units equipped with Samsung Exynos SoCs.

That said, this time the combination should be Snapdragon 898 and Exynos 2200. The latter is already equipped with the long-awaited AMD Radeon RDNA 2 GPU. However, according to new information, it seems that the Exynos version will get a little rarer in the next generation.

After all, it seems that the European market will have the Exynos version, the American market is still in negotiations, with Verizon trying to get their hands on this same version, while the other mobile network providers should stick with the Qualcomm version. That’s while South Korea, China, and Hong-Kong, India, and much of Asia will have the Snapdragon version.

In short, for us in Europe, little or nothing will change, as we usually always receive the Exynos version. And actually, in 2022, I prefer it that way, as the new SoC made in partnership with AMD looks really interesting.

However, this can have another disastrous effect, which happens to have affected the availability of Samsung mobile phones all over the worldThe chip production crisis. After all, as I said above, Samsung’s 5nm lines are really having a hard time.

But let’s wait and see.
