SEOUL, 23 Feb. (Yonhap) — The volume of Samsung Electronics Co.’s Galaxy S22 series devices that were put into use passed the 300,000 mark on Tuesday in the first day, hitting an all-time high. The pre-orders of this series had started nine days ago with also a record.

Deliveries and activations began yesterday and broke the previously recorded Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Filp 3 record for a first day (270,000 units).

Among the three models in the Galaxy S22 series, the Ultra model including an S Pen stylus accounted for 60% of the total. In particular, consumers who had a Galaxy Note made up a large share of Galaxy S22 Ultra buyers, according to Samsung’s explanation.

The volume of pre-orders for the Galaxy S22 series, received between February 14 and 21, stands at 1.02 million units, a record surpassing the precedent set by the Galaxy S8 (1 million). Pre-orders of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Filp 3 folding smartphones had reached 920,000 units.
