According to the mid-range models Galaxy A71 and A51 (see report) Samsung is presenting two more minimally slimmed-down lite variants of its top models at CES 2020 and wants to offer a more affordable, finely graduated range through these somewhat cheaper models. The new Galaxy S10 Lite (SM-G770) and the Note10 Lite (SM-N770) are praised by Samsung under the motto “Premium quality for a wide range of buyers”.
These two smartphones also shine with the typical Samsung strengths, which are characterized by the high-quality camera for high image quality, the almost borderless «Infinity-O» displays and powerful and durable battery technology. In the case of a note, the stylus “S-Pen” is added. Both shine with a triple camera (wide angle, ultra wide angle, telephoto) and 32 Mpx front camera.
S10 Lite: Top quality camera and 48 Mpx
With the Galaxy S10 Lite, which in addition to the new ActionCam video stabilization (OIS) of the wide-angle camera also has an ultra-wide-angle and a macro camera, users can capture beautiful moments in brilliant quality. In super-stable mode, optical image stabilization offers greater stability for action-oriented photos and videos, so that users can share their experiences live and without compromise.
The triple camera of the S10 Lite shines with a 1: 2.0 wide angle with a remarkable 48 Mpx, a 12 Mpx super wide angle with light intensity 1: 2.2 and a 5 Mpx macro with 1: 2.4. The ultra-wide-angle camera has a 123-degree lens, whose viewing angle corresponds approximately to that of the human eye. The 32 Mpx high-resolution front camera with a light intensity of 1: 2.2 and the multiple main camera of the smartphone capture the finest details crystal clear.
Note10 Lite: More productive and creative with pen
The “notebook” is also equipped with a powerful triple camera. It consists of a 12 Mpx wide angle with light intensity 1: 1.7, a 12 Mpx super wide angle with 1: 2.2 and 123 degrees as well as a 5 Mpx telephoto with 1: 2.4. In addition to the main camera on the back, there is a front camera with 32 Mpx and 1: 2.2 on the front of the display.
The Note10 Lite is characterized by the “S Pen” stylus that can be accommodated in the smartphone. This enables users to increase their productivity because they can act more precisely and efficiently on the display. The pen is also a practical remote control. Thanks to the support of Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE), it is possible to navigate through a presentation, control video content or take a photo or trigger it remotely with a simple click on the S Pen. “S Pen” commands allow quick and easy access to the characteristic functions. Creative people find it easy to capture their ideas and thoughts thanks to the easy-to-use but powerful Samsung Notes app.
Equipment of both models
With the Galaxy S10 Lite and the Galaxy Note10 Lite, even more users will have access to the typical Galaxy features, which include the camera and the display and the battery. Both have an Infinity-O display with a screen size of 6.7 inches each and with «Full HD +» resolution (1080 x 2400 px) as an Infinity-O »display. The Super AMOLED display ensures an impressive viewing experience and can display multimedia content in an impressive way.
Both Lite models are equipped with a large 4,500 mAh strong and long-lasting battery and have the practical super-quick charge function. 6 or 8 GB RAM and 128 GB mass storage are available as storage, the latter being expandable with a memory card of up to 1 TB thanks to the microSD slot.
Pricing and availability
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite will be available in the colors “Prism White”, “Prism Black” and “Prism Blue” for CHF 649 (RRP). The Galaxy Note10 Lite is available for 599 francs in the color variants “Aura Glow”, “Aura Black” and “Aura Red”.
Both models will be available in Swiss retail in January 2020.
