The Galati Public Health Directorate has taken stock of the seasonal ailments, from which more and more Galati residents suffer, related to the second week of January
Thus, between January 8-14, 2,488 respiratory viruses were registered, of which, in 60 cases, the patients needed hospitalization for specialized treatment. The most affected age group, with 752 cases, was between 5 and 14 years old. 240 people suffered from pneumonia, 81 of them ended up in a hospital bed for recovery. The most affected age group was between 0-1 years, where 50 cases were registered.
“Regarding the flu, for the monitored period we recorded 175 patients, with 28 hospitalizations, and the age segment most affected was between 2-4 years. For this category, we have registered 49 cases”, said Liliana Iordăchescu, spokesperson of DSP Galați.
