Twenty-three-year-old midfielder Nicoló Zaniolo has officially transferred from AS Roma to Galatasaray. His transfer to Turkey was practically a non-negotiable matter for several days, now the club from Istanbul has brought the transfer to a successful end. Zaniolo signed a contract until 2027. There is talk of a transfer fee of 16.5 million euros, with possible bonuses for a total of 13 million.
Zaniolo has not yet been introduced at an official press conference, apparently due to the current situation in the country, which was recently hit by a strong earthquake. At the same time, the Turkish club is very involved in helping the residents who were affected by the tragedy. The current posts from social networks are devoted exclusively to this event, Zaniol’s arrival is somehow delayed by these events.
There is speculation in the backroom that the Italian should receive a salary of 3.5 million euros per year, with an exit clause of 35 million euros. Zaniolo has been unhappy in Roma for almost the entire season, so he appealed to the Giallorossi management in January to leave the club early. By the way, the Italian side should not come short, even if he transfers elsewhere in the future. It would collect 15 percent from further sales, in the case of activating the clause, it would be 5.25 million euros.
