THE REFEREE OF THE FIGHT HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED
According to the statement made by UEFA, the match in which Galatasaray will host Copenhagen at the Parken Stadium will be officiated by Italian Referee Daniel Orsato. The assistants of the experienced referee will be Ciro Carbone and Alessandro Giallatini. Michael Fabbri will be the fourth referee of the match.
ORSATO’S INTERESTING REPORT CARD
The 48-year-old referee, who wore the FIFA badge in 2010, took part in the matches of Turkish teams eight times, three of which were for the Turkish National Football Team.
Turkish teams could win only once in these matches. In 2015, Daniel Orsato blew the whistle in the match in which Fenerbahçe beat Atromitos 1-0 away.
WAS WAITING WITH CURIOUSLY
Turkish teams received red cards twice in the matches managed by Orsato. In 2011, Trabzonspor was down to 10 players in the away match against Athletic Bilbao in the Champions League qualifying match.
Orsato has taken part in two matches of Galatasaray so far. The yellow-reds lost both of these matches.
OKAN BURUK AGAIN, COPENHAGEN AGAIN, ORSATO AGAIN
While Galatasaray Coach Okan Buruk was coaching Başakşehir, he was paired with Copenhagen in the 2020/2021 season Europa League Round of 16 rematch.
