“Galasso, think nationally” will be screened from January 11 in the Buenos Aires theater as part of the tour it is taking throughout the country.

“It seemed strange to me that Norberto didn’t have his film”expresses Federico Sosascreenwriter and director of Galasso, think national.

Norberto Galasso He has been a central figure in national thought in recent decades. Historian, writer, polemicist, activist. He is the author of more than fifty books, among which some – such as Perón, Let’s Be Free and the rest, nothing matters and History of Argentina. From the native peoples to the time of the Kirchners – they have acquired the category of true classics that make up the libraries of thousands of readers in Argentina and also outside the country.

“We wanted to make a film where Norberto talks about him, about his militancy and his life, but that also serves to disseminate the thinkers of the national and popular field, those ignored by liberal historiography and who continue to be the cursed of history today” , manifests.

“Galasso, thinking nationally”, reviews the life of the historian who gives an account of the importance of the thought of Raúl Scalabrini Ortiz, Arturo Jauretche, John William Cooke and Juan José Hernández Arregui, intellectuals of the national field whom he studied in depth.

“The documentary shows Galasso’s coherence and behavior, intertwined with those national thinkers, which was what interested him the most about the project, because he is very modest and does not like to talk about personal things,” account Sosa in Cacodelphia. “We then aimed for these characters to dialogue with Norberto from this present, that was the idea, so that when the film is finished, it is not old,” he adds.

Galasso, think national It was supported by the support of the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) and is the sixth film by Federico Sosa, who has followed Galasso as a historian since he was 20 years old. “I met Norberto at the Enrique Santos Discépolo Cultural Center and since then he has been a political and human reference for me,” dice. Since its premiere, it has already been screened in more than 25 cultural spaces, cinemas and universities.

The film can be seen at the Gaumont cinema (CABA) from January 11 to 17 at 7 p.m.
