Actress Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins previously made two Wonder Woman films and they are now teaming up on a film about another powerful woman. This time no heroine from a comic. They will work on a biopic about Cleopatra, the queen of ancient Egypt.
Not Warner Bros. but Paramount Pictures is the film studio that took the film after a bidding process. Following Deadline, Universal Pictures, Netflix and Apple were also in the race to add the film to their movie calendar. Previously, other big names were linked to a Cleopatra movie, with Angelina Jolie in the title role.

In the message from Deadline you can read that the film is an idea of Gadot and via Instagram the actress announced that she has wanted to tell the story of Cleopatra for a long time.
“I love to take new journeys, I love the excitement of new projects, the excitement of bringing new stories to life. Cleopatra is a story that I have wanted to tell for a long time,” Gadot said.
Must go into production soon!
The film should be developed quickly and therefore the writing has already started by Laeta Kalogridis (Alexander, Shutter Island, Alita: Battle Angel) who will write the script. Gadot and Jenkins reportedly would also release a sequel to it in December Wonder Woman 1984 have to make.
