The GAK remains on the road to success! In the eighth round of the Admiral 2nd League, the Graz team celebrated a 3-0 win against FC Liefering.
The match winner is striker Daniel Maderner, who scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season.
Double Maderner paves the way for home success
The GAK goal anthem is played early on in the Merkur Arena (2,821 spectators). Daniel Maderner will be the beneficiary of a weak discount from Liefering goalkeeper Krumrey. The goalgetter holds out his foot and the ball lands in the goal (7th).
After another ten revolutions of the hand, the guests from Salzburg presented themselves to the Graz goalkeeper Meierhofer for the first time. Turco is looking for a quick conclusion. However, the GAK goalie is there with a good save (19th). Shortly afterwards, Turco failed again at the opponent’s keeper, this time with a header (21′).
The Lieferingers subsequently suffered another setback due to Diabate’s yellow-red card. The six comes too late against Mayer and is then sent to the shower (35th).
The home team took advantage of their numerical superiority and followed up shortly before the break. Maderner puts together his double pack, he is found centrally on the edge of the box and finishes dryly into the bottom left corner (45th).
Liefering can’t find a way out of the slump
After the break, the private duel between Turco and GAK goalie Meierhofer continues. The Liefering striker tests his opponent with a powerful shot, which, however, is too central and can be parried (47th).
On the other hand, Maderner is working diligently on his hat trick, but a header (56′) and a right-foot shot (57′) are too inaccurate.
It is therefore difficult for the decimated Lieferingers to advance dangerously into the final third of the hosts. Meanwhile, the GAK can play completely freely.
Liefering’s pitch-black afternoon was completed by another mistake: Mark Gevorgyan played the ball into the legs of the opponent who was pressing early. Michael Cheukoua just has to finish after a pass and puts the lid on it in the final quarter of an hour (76th).
The GAK wins for the third time en suite and can extend its lead at the top of the table to five points thanks to SKN St. Pölten’s draw against Admira (match report>>>). Liefering has been waiting for a success for five match days and is in 14th place with seven points.
