O Santos confirmed, this Thursday, the sale of midfielder Gabriel Pirani to DC United. The North American club spent US$1.3 million (around R$6.3 million) to have the 21-year-old player.

Last week, DC United had already notified Peixe that it would exercise the option to purchase Pirani. Since the second semester, the player has been on loan to the team, which competes in the MLS. He played in ten games and scored one goal.
In the agreement, Fluminense is entitled to an undisclosed percentage of the negotiation, as Pirani was on loan until the end of this year at Tricolor and broke the contract to move to football in the United States.

DC United had already announced the signing of the midfielder on their social media last Tuesday.
Trained in the youth categories of SantosGabriel Pirani was promoted to Peixe’s professional team in 2020. The following year, he had his best season with the Santos shirt, with 60 games and five goals, in addition to four assists.
In 2022, he lost space and was loaned to Cuiabá to compete in the Brazilian Championship. He returned to Peixe in 2023, but was transferred to Fluminense by coach Odair Hellmann.
Pirani’s focus now is on competing in the pre-Olympic tournament with the Brazilian team. The Selection begins preparations on January 8th at Granja Comary, in Teresópolis. On the 16th, the delegation leaves for Venezuela, where the competition will be held between January 20th and February 11th.
