The actor Gabriel Oldsknown for playing Pat Rorbertson in the film ‘The Eyes of Tammy Faye’, was arrested in Los Angeles for allegedly committing sexual assault on at least three women, reported the city police, who are looking for more possible victims.
Olds, 52, was arrested Wednesday after the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office charged him with seven felony counts of sexual assault.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said in a statement that investigators have identified three women whom Olds sexually assaulted since 2013.
According to the indictment, on January 19, 2023, a 41-year-old woman reported that Olds raped her at his Los Angeles home.
Two other women made similar reports dating back more than a decade, “describing consensual dating encounters that resulted in violent sexual assault”the LAPD detailed.
Olds, a New York native and Yale graduate, has been working as an actor and screenwriter since the early 1990s.
His victims reported that he used his status as an alumnus of the prestigious university and his job in Hollywood to meet women and arrange dates through apps.
Police believe that because Olds traveled frequently for work, there may be more victims in other parts of the country who have not reported the attacks.
LAPD Detective Brent Hopkins said in a statement that some of the survivors of Olds’ attack suffered in silence for years before finding the strength to speak out.
“Now that he is no longer on the streets, we want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to be heard,” he added. Olds is being held on $3.5 million bail.
