Gabriel Olds, an actor known for his roles in series such as Law & Order, NCIS and Criminal Minds, was arrested last Wednesday. According to Fox News Digital, he faces seven felony counts of sexual assault. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) investigation revealed that Olds used his fame and college education to lure his victims, many of whom he met through dating apps.
Olds, a New York native who currently resides in Los Angeles, remains in custody on bail set at $3.5 million. An LAPD statement said the first allegation against him dates back to January 2023, when a 41-year-old woman reported him for rape, saying the alleged assault occurred at her residence. Two other women subsequently filed similar complaints dating back to 2013.
The stories told by the victims describe initially consensual encounters that escalated into violent sexual assaults. These similarities led detectives to investigate further, culminating in Olds’ arrest on July 19, 2024, following the issuance of an arrest warrant.
“The same story was repeated over and over again,” said Detective Brent Hopkins, supervisor of the special assault section. “Mr. Olds started out charming, but he would resort to extreme violence to carry out these acts. Some of these survivors endured in silence for years before finding the strength to speak out. Now that he is in custody, we want to make sure they all have the opportunity to be heard.”
So far, three women have been identified as victims of sexual assault, while two others have reported minor sexually violent conduct. Given Olds’ professional reach, detectives believe there may be more victims across the country and are asking anyone with relevant information to come forward.
The actor’s legal representatives have not yet commented on the case. It should be noted that Olds is represented by Imperium 7 Talent Agency, an agency that also has names like Gina Gershon and Paula Patton. The agency has also not shared any statements regarding the allegations.
Gabriel Olds has been active in the entertainment industry since 1993, appearing in numerous television series as well as having a supporting role in the 2021 film “The Eyes of Tammy Faye.” In addition to his on-screen work, Olds has had a prominent presence in the theater, appearing in Broadway plays and regional productions.
Over the past three years, Olds has had a low-key role on the small screen. In 2022, she appeared in an episode of FBI: International; a year later, she was part of The Rookie: Feds, with a single appearance in the third season of the Prime Video show.
The actor has also been part of the video game industry, being one of the extra voices in the acclaimed (and controversial) video game The Last of Us: Part II.
The truth is that, regardless of whether he is found guilty or not, it is a fact that Gabriel’s career will be greatly affected by these accusations. An example of this is the scandalous case of Kevin Spacey, who went from winning an Oscar for Best Actor to auctioning off his house in Baltimore and declaring bankruptcy after a series of accusations that pointed to him as a sexual predator.
