Girona failed to win the first league game of the new season on Thursday night. The final score was 1-1 when they visited Real Betis. Gabriel Misehouy, who moved from Ajax on a free transfer this summer, scored Girona’s only goal a minute after his debut.

With Daley Blind in the starting lineup and Misehouy and Donny van de Beek on the bench, Girona had a disappointing start to the season. After just over five minutes, Marc Bartra, formerly of FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, signed for the 1-0. He headed home from a corner kick.
Girona had to hunt for the equaliser, and twenty minutes before the end, Misehouy made his debut as a substitute. One minute later it made it 1-1: Iker Almena made a good move on the right and sent it back to Misehouy, who easily got the chance.
After that there would be no more scoring. That means that the four teams involved so far in the LaLiga season are on one point: Girona, Getafe, Real Betis and Athletic Club.
