Gabriel Medina is the great champion of the Rottnest Search stage, in Australia, of the World Surfing Circuit (CT). The Brazilian beat Australian Morgan Cibilic in the final and won the title.
In the heat of the decision, Medina gave no chance to the opponent and placed two good marks in the sum, reaching 15.50 points (7.00 and 8.50), while Cibilic added only 7.87 points (7.27 and 0, 60).
With the victory, the two-time world champion skyrocketed even further in the leadership of the ranking. Gabriel Medina has 38,920 points, more than 8,000 points ahead of the runner-up, also Brazilian Italo Ferreira (30,235). In five stages so far in the 2021 season, the Maresias surfer reached four finals, with two titles.
The World Surfing Circuit returns next month, with the Surf Ranch Pro stage in the wave pool in Lemoore, in the United States. The competition will be held from 18 to 20 June.
