In the last year, film and television adaptations of various literary classics have noticeably increased.
It turns out that the coming months will not be an exception, and the first legendary title that we will see on the screen very soon is “One Hundred Years of Solitude” by Gabriel García Márquez. It is hardly a particular surprise that the production will be the work of the streaming platform Netflix, as the first trailer of the series is already available on the network.
The saga was filmed entirely in Colombia, and a curious fact is that the realization was supported 100% by the writer’s family.
Behind its realization is the director duo Alex Garcia and Laura Mora, and the cast includes names almost unknown to the general public such as Claudio Cattaño, Susana Morales and Carlos Suarez (which does not mean that we will not follow it with interest).
The 16-episode premiere, expected at the end of the year, will coincide with the 40th anniversary of Marquez winning the Nobel Prize for Literature.
Otherwise, “One Hundred Years of Solitude” is among the most famous novels of the Colombian author and it can be safely said that it is a standard for the literary genre “magical realism”.
