Gabriel Estrada is part of the Minnesota Brass band, where he has raised the name of Guatemala for his talent.

Since he was little he went to live in Quetzaltenango and joined the band La Patria School. There he learned to play several instruments, but what he liked the most was the trumpet.

Over time he left school and founded the band with other friends. Life Music Corp., with which he participated in different countries.

However the Covid-19 It made the band stop playing, but his dreams didn’t stop there.

How did you get into the Minnesota Brass?

Last year Gabriel applied for a music scholarship and was awarded. That’s how she traveled to Minnesota, where his sister-in-law lives, and everything was a little easier.

Since November 2022, he joined the band and the trumpet team, with which he has participated in two international tournaments and obtained fourth and second place. He is the only Guatemalan and Latino.

What is coming for Guatemala with the bands?

Although Gabriel is still in Minnesota and now also works at a High Schoolone of his objectives was always to go learn how to use marching bands, how to prepare and choreography.

With everything he has managed to learn, he hopes to come to Guatemala to implement it so that the national bands are more competitive.
