Libreville, Saturday April 29, 2023 (Gabon Info) – The Franco-British oil company announces the release of an envelope of more than 178 billion CFA francs for the construction of a production platform in the said field located in the south of the country.
The audience granted yesterday by the Minister of Oil and Gas, Vincent de Paul Massassa, to the Africa director of Perenco, Denis Chatelan, ended with a good announcement. The Franco-British multinational has announced the release of a sum of 300 million dollars, or more than 178.3 billion F, for the development of the Tchatamba oil field in southern Gabon over the next three years. “With our partner Tullow, in the coming months, we are going to install a new living quarters to be able to rationalize the operation, install a new production platform next year and do drilling,” said Denis Chatelan.
Thanks to this investment, the oil giant will see its production grow in Gabon. To date, Perenco produces more than 100,000 barrels/d. The government, for its part, has great hopes in this project, which will boost the local transformation of energy resources.
