The 6,000 housing construction project is one of the priority projects of the transitional government in Gabon. Indeed, this social housing project will be carried out thanks to a public-private partnership and will cost 111 billion FCFA, or an investment of 37 billion FCFA each year.
The objective is to reduce the housing deficit in Gabon in a context where access to decent housing or a serviced plot remains a challenge for the populations. According to the World Bank, the housing deficit in Gabon is 150,000 units. The lack of access to titled land and affordable plots remains a real obstacle to investment in real estate. Let’s learn.
Note that with structures such as the National Real Estate Company and the Caisse de Dépôts et des Consignations, several social housing units have been built in Gabon in recent years, notably in Bikele, Nkok, and in the Alhambra city of Angondjé in the commune of Akanda and many others.
