The Minister of Agriculture announced this during a workshop to update and validate the legal framework.
During this workshop in which technicians from the Ministry of Agriculture, sectoral departments, notably Health, Environment and Economy take part, it is a question of working for 04 days in order to find solutions for better supervise the veterinary profession in Gabon. Gabon has barely 70 veterinarians and needs more to develop its livestock sector.
To this end, the updating of the various texts will make it possible to operationalize the Order of Veterinary Physicians, necessary for good monitoring of breeding and optimization of the herd, and to have a legal framework to govern the issuance of the health mandate, an instrument necessary to ensure an effective territorial coverage of veterinary services. The various visas of the decrees whose corrections were made during this workshop will be submitted to the next council of ministers for validation.
