Libreville, Thursday August 1, 2024 (Gabon News) – The Gabonese Head of State is expected this Thursday, August 1 in Kampala, the Ugandan capital, where a one-on-one meeting is planned between him and the Head -sit Yoweri Museveni.
The 72-hour official visit of the president of the Gabonese movement to Uganda will be an opportunity to strengthen the bilateral ties that unite the two countries and share their experiences. The opportunity will also benefit the two heads of state to explore points of cooperation that benefit their citizens, with a view to revitalizing the Libreville and Kampala axis.
Diplomatic relations between Gabon and Uganda date back to 1977. And Gabon, which has started diversifying its economy, is taking advantage of all economic opportunities, especially within the framework South-South cooperation.
So this stay of the President of the Republic on Ugandan soil, with the First Lady Zita Oligui Nguema, will be an opportunity to lift Gabon to the top.
This visit by General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, the first of its kind for a Gabonese head of state in this SADC member country, comes after his stay in France, where he was present at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, before going to Morocco for her private trip.
