Gabon – Transport – Taxi Gab +: Drivers have received their vehicles

Libreville, Thursday October 10, 2024 (Gabon News) – Gabonese citizens who benefited from this program received the keys to their vehicles on Wednesday from General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.

Announced a few days ago, the program “One Gabonese, one Taxi” is coming into being. In fact, the authorities who intend to modernize the urban transport sector and encourage entrepreneurship among young people have taken the next step by providing the vehicles to the people affected by that project.

A total of four hundred and seventeen (417) taxis were given to young Gabonese people by the Head of State at a ceremony organized on October 9, 2024 at the 01 air base in Libreville.

Led by the Committee for Transition and Renewal of Institutions (CTRI) and coordinated by the National Employment Promotion Center (PNPE) and the Taxi Gab+ structure, this program is part of the vision of sitting the Transition and aiming at several goals, including renovation, revaluation and the introduction of many Gabonese people into the urban transport sector.

In addition, on the one hand, it allows young people to gain financial independence by being entrepreneurs in the field of transport, and on the other hand contributes to the recovery of the national economy through creating jobs.

Through the platform called Akanda biz through its iTaxi application, customers will be able to connect with the drivers of these vehicles, communicate their destinations and get the price of the trip through the ​This beneficial and modern platform.

To enter this program, the Gabonese people had to make a financial contribution in the amount of 1,100,000 CFA francs as a deposit intended for maintenance costs and the establishment of a driver’s card among other things.

New entrepreneurs will also benefit from support including training, regular monitoring and legal guidance to develop in a structured and secure professional framework through the Taxi Gab + company.

While thanking the Head of State for this economic initiative, as a symbol of renewal and hope, the beneficiaries, including 10 young women, promised to make good use of it, change minds and take the poem in hand.

This first phase of distribution will gradually expand throughout the entire national area.
