The new Minister of Transport, Captain of Vaisseau Loïc Moudouma Ndinga, during an unannounced meeting with the general director and agents of Sogatra announced the carrying out of an audit.
According to the site Le Nouveau Gabon, this audit will allow, according to the member of the government, to know more about the subsidy allocated by the State to Sogatra and to take an interest in salaries and bonuses, or even assess the viability of the company in a context where it is threatened with liquidation. “ From Monday (September 18, 2023), we will carry out an audit to see if the money has been disbursed, but it has not arrived in your hands. We’re going to find out.” he announced. During his unannounced meeting with the general management of Sogatra and the staff, the captain of Vaisseau Loïc Moudouma Ndinga, wanted to put an end to a mood swing among Sogatra agents which was already in the making. “The objective of this exchange was to listen to the strikers and understand the difficulties of Sogatra. To this end, the Minister was able to suspend the strike movement and reassure the agents “, we argue at the Ministry of Transport. This mood swing was going to be yet another organized by the staff of this company which, for several years, has been facing numerous financial and technical difficulties. Difficulties which were certainly aggravated with the arrival in April 2020 in the urban transport sector of the company Trans’Urb. The latter operating on the same operating network as Sogatra. From then on, Sogatra found it difficult to fulfill the public service mission entrusted to it by the State. Please note that Sogatra is a parapublic company created with the aim of offering services adapted to its customers and participating in resolving the problem of urban and interurban transport in Gabon.
