Gabon strengthens its efforts for the candidacy of Prosper Zo’o Minto’o for the presidency of ASECNA – Journal du Gabon

As part of the diplomatic campaign aimed at promoting the candidacy of Prosper Zo’o Minto’o for the post of Director General of the Agency for Air Safety in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA), Gabon is strengthening its inter- national.

Gabonese Transport Minister Dieudonné Loïc Ndinga Moudouma recently led official visits to Cameroon, the Central African Republic, and Equatorial Guinea, seeking support from ASECNA member countries.

During these visits, Ndinga Moudouma met with key figures such as the Minister of Foreign Relations of Cameroon, Lejeune Mbella Mbella, and the Minister of Transport of Central Africa, as well as the President of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. These meetings aimed to convince local authorities to support the application of Zo’o Minto’o, an experienced engineer with 38 years of experience in the field of civil aviation.

The Gabonese campaign also included a strategic visit to France, to the Quai d’Orsay, where a meeting was organized with Olivier Richard, deputy director general for globalization, to strengthen support for the bid . Therefore Gabon is trying to rely on the historical support of France, co-founder of ASECNA in 1959.

Prosper Zo’o Minto’o, whose professional background includes leadership positions within the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and ASECNA, has been nominated as an outstanding candidate for the lead a group. His career, marked by significant contributions to safety and air traffic management, and his skills in international negotiation, are cited to support his claim.

Through these diplomatic efforts, Gabon hopes not only to obtain the necessary support for Zo’o Minto’o’s application, but also to strengthen the African influence in the management of this vital organization for air safety on the big -land.
