Gabon-Presidential 2023: 46 polling stations for the diaspora

The Gabonese Elections Center (CGE) made 46 polling stations available to 16,093 foreign voters.

The presidential election will be held on Saturday August 26, 2023, in Gabon. To allow the diaspora not to remain on the sidelines, the CGE opened 46 polling stations for 16,093 voters. In a circular note to the attention of the presidents of the electoral consular commissions, the electoral institution says it has abolished several electoral consular commissions in many countries such as South Africa, Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire. Of the 14 consular election commissions set up, there are a total of 46 polling stations, including 21 for the African zone: Senegal (5 offices in Dakar), Equatorial Guinea (2 in Malabo, with jurisdiction over Bata), Congo Brazzaville (2 in Brazzaville with jurisdiction over Pointe Noire), Cameroon (2 in Yaoundé with jurisdiction over Douala), Benin (1 in Cotonou) and Togo (1 in Lomé). For those living in China, 3 offices are available in Beijing with jurisdiction over Hu-Han and Shanghai. In the United States, 3 offices will be opened in Washington with jurisdiction over Los Angeles and Texas; as well as 2 others in New York with jurisdiction over the city of New Jersey. For the Europe zone, there are 17 polling stations, including 16 in France (11 in Paris with jurisdiction over Rennes, Lille, Nantes and Strasbourg; 5 in Bordeaux with jurisdiction over Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse and Montpellier). Gabonese living in the UK have a single polling station in London.
