Libreville, October 11, 2023 (AGP) – The president of the Gabonese Transition, Brigadier General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma, left Libreville this Wednesday for Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), as part of his sub-regional explanatory tour, announced a press release from the Gabonese presidency.
During his 24-hour stay on Congolese soil, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma will have a meeting with his Congolese counterpart, Félix Tshisekedi. In Kinshasa, the president of the Gabonese transition will plead for the relaxation, or even the lifting, of the sanctions of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) against Gabon, after ”the Coup d’Etat” of October 30.
Since taking power, General Oligui Nguéma has been active on the regional diplomatic level to explain to his counterparts in the Central African sub-region the reasons for “release shot” of August 30, at the origin of the current transition in Gabon.
Before the DRC, the president of the transition began his journey with Equatorial Guinea, then Congo Brazzaville, the Central African Republic (CAR), and Chad.
