Libreville, November 22, 2023 (AGP) – The sports advisor to the supervisory minister, Valéry Ondo Ebe, reacted following the exit, this Wednesday, of the president of the Gabonese Football Federation (Fégafoot), Pierre Alain Mounguengui, castigating the behavior of members of the minister’s office, during the recent regrouping of the Gabon national team as part of the start of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Indexed without being cited by name, Valéry Ondo Ebe, the minister’s sports advisor, reacted this Wednesday evening to the exit of the president of the Gabonese Football Federation, Pierre Alain Mounguengui.
The former Gabonese international footballer estimated that “making unfounded allegations for the sole reason of harming the actions of the minister is a real danger in the healthy relationship that the latter is building with the Gabonese Football Federation and other federations national sports,” he said.
Regarding the working session he had with the national coach of Gabon, Thierry Mouyouma, and some members of his staff, advisor Valéry Ondo Ebe said this: “I called them so that we could coordinate our positions at the end of the match. To know if when leaving the stadium we had to take our luggage to go directly to the airport at the end of the match. Or we simply came back to the hotel and that’s what was done,” he maintained.
On the subject of bonuses, the former candidate for the election for the presidency of Fégafoot said he was not involved in this process. But admitted having been contacted by some members of the delegation aggrieved by this situation.
“Some supervisors let me know that they had not received their bonuses. I contacted the accounting officer who informed me that the situation would be resolved in Libreville,” he assured.
