Gabon: Oligui Nguema receives a Chadian envoy

The President of the Transition Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma received on September 21, 2023, in Libreville Taher Hamid Nguilin, Minister of Finance of Chad, who came to demonstrate his country’s solidarity with the Gabonese people and the Committee for Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI ).

The President of the Transition of Chad dispatched his minister to show his support for the President of the Transition. During their discussions, the two broached the subject of security issues in the sub-region and those relating to bilateral cooperation between Gabon and Chad.

Indeed, the Chadian Minister of Finance was keen to convey the message from Chad’s transitional president Idriss Deby Itno. “A message of friendship, fraternity, and solidarity from Chad with the Gabonese people. Because the president of Transition has taken a certain number of calming measures and restarting of activities which satisfies us.” Indicates the Chadian minister.

And to add : “Chad and Gabon are brother countries and Gabon has always been on the side of Chad and the Chadians”, said Taher Hamid Nguilin, Emissary of the Chadian President. Finally, he indicated that: “We appreciate the calm, the serenity, and the populations are happy. We believe that there is popular support and what the Gabonese people want is what Chad will support. This is why we are going to support Gabon so that the return to the constitutional order already underway is for the benefit of the populations”. Remember that Chad was one of the first countries in the sub-region to condemn the coup d’état in Gabon while calling for a return to constitutional order.
