Libreville, Tuesday April 11, 2023 (Info Gabon) – The National Conference on this issue opened this Tuesday, April 11, 2023 in Libreville by the government aims to control inflation and find solutions for a better supply of markets with basic necessities.
On the initiative of the government, economic operators, civil society actors and development partners have been meeting since this morning in Arambo as part of the National Conference against the high cost of living. For the participants in this meeting, it is a question of finding solutions for effective price control and better supply of consumer goods to the markets. According to the Minister of Trade and SMEs, government spokesperson, this three-day meeting aims to “reduce the prices of basic necessities and everyday consumer products to appreciable levels”.
These National Meetings against the high cost of living are in line with the 12 commitments contained in the Declaration of general policy by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Alain-Claude Bilie-By-Nze, before the National Assembly, on January 23rd. The exchanges relate to food, catering, health and education, housing and construction, transport, incidental taxation and taxation.
