Libreville, Thursday December 14, 2023 (Infos Gabon) – This decision by the Ministry of Public Works aims to protect users following regressive erosion of exceptional magnitude which occurred on this road axis.
The Ministry of Public Works announced on December 12, 2012 the ban on the circulation of heavy goods vehicles on the Koumameyong – Ovan road axis. And for good reason: the erosion that has occurred on this road puts users in danger. According to the ministry’s press release, this is a regressive erosion 3.5 meters wide by approximately 35 meters long and 15 meters deep, which occurred precisely at PK35 before the village of EBE MESSE.
Given the dangerous nature of this collapse of the roadway, the Ministry of Public Works, which is planning rehabilitation work in the coming days, urges other users to drive with caution. At the same time, the government is reassuring that it will develop an effective rehabilitation plan for optimal resumption of traffic on this road axis.
Commuters are encouraged to carefully monitor official communications from the Department of Public Works for updates on the situation and instructions regarding alternative routes.
