The Minister of Mines, Hervé Patrick Opiangah, received in audience on Tuesday the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Li JinJin, with whom the areas of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the mining sector were discussed.
The exchanges between Minister of Mines, Hervé Patrick Opiangah and the diplomat Li JinJin were focused on research, the development of mining projects and the transformation, on a local level, of the production of Chinese companies operating in Gabon, marked the attention of the two personalities. “ This Sino-Gabonese cooperation must move up the production chain. Because if we export raw materials primitively, there will not be enough added value. This does not allow enough capital to be accumulated to develop Gabonese industry. », explained the Chinese diplomat after his interview with the Minister of Mines on the website of the Gabonese Press Agency.
For his part, Hervé Patrick Opiangah recalled Gabon’s availability to deepen bilateral cooperation between the two countries, not without insisting on supporting Chinese companies in the processing of raw materials, with a view to generating more jobs in Gabon. . He also asked the Chinese Ambassador to lead an awareness campaign among other Chinese companies operating in processing, in order to seize this opportunity.
Also, the two parties examined the progress of mining projects between the Gabonese state and Chinese companies. Projects which concern both the exploitation of iron and manganese deposits. The Chinese Diplomat, on this occasion, expressed his satisfaction with the quality of relations between companies in the two countries.
