Gabigol couldn’t contain his emotion and cried as he said goodbye to his teammates
Sunday (03) was exciting for Flamengo. This is because the game against Cuiabá, in the 37th round of the Brazilian Championship, was marked by the farewells of Filipe Luís and Rodrigo Caio at Maracanã. Gabigol even drew attention after not containing his emotion and crying a lot with the tributes to his teammates.
Before the ball rolled, while the fans paid tribute to the pair of players from the Maracanã stands, Gabigol was caught by the broadcast camera very emotional. Alongside Rodrigo Caio, Flamengo’s number 10 cried when he saw the mosaic written “They made history”, in addition to the flags with memorable moments from Filipe Luís and the defender.

The day’s honorees, Filipe Luís and Rodrigo Caio, also cried with the prestige they received from the fans and the red and black board. The farewell to Filipe Luís and Rodrigo Caio could not end in a better way. This is because, on the field, Flamengo beat Cuiabá 2-1. With the result, Rubro-Negro moved up one position in the Brazilian Championship league table. Therefore, Mais Querido took third place, with 66 points, and is closer to winning a direct place in the Libertadores group stage.
