Valve boss says many PC gamers are happy with the game.
Such has been the scandal surrounding Cyberpunk 2077’s eventful release and its consequences that we often forget that the CD Projekt game has been very well received on computers. But Gabe Newell, co-founder and CEO of Valve, is not about to let the virtues of the game and its development studio be forgotten. In an interview with a New Zealand news portal, Newell called the treatment the Polish studio is receiving unfair and highlighted the benefits of Cyberpunk 2077.
Some aspects of the game are just great“I have a lot of empathy for the situation that each developer is going through. All I know is that there are a lot of happy PC gamers out there who are the ones we can see the most easily, ”Newell said. “Some aspects of the game are just brilliant and demonstrate the tremendous amount of work -it is very unfair to throw stones at a developer, because just to come up with something so complex and ambitious is really amazing, “he continued.” When people have reactions [negativas], the first thing I think is that this is an opportunity for us and I guess that Cyberpunk 2077 creators are also striving to make improvements that benefit consumers. They have a long history of good jobs, sustained investments in their products, and I suspect they will keep their customers happy over time. “
Newell is not the only renowned developer to come and defend CD Projekt. In recent days, Masahiro Sakurai, the spirit behind Super Smash Bros., has also praised the studio’s attitude in the face of adversity and saved the huge effort behind Cyberpunk 2077.
After years of waiting and surrounded by immense anticipation, Cyberpunk 2077 debuted in early December. It received rave reviews for its PC version, but was beaten by the quality of the console versions, to the point of being pulled from the PS Store and offering refunds – something Sakurai found particularly commendable. A few days ago, CD Projekt released its roadmap, amid buy rumors and various class actions.
