Vienna (OTS) – From March 1st, a tram on Line 1 will be dedicated to International Women’s Day on March 8th. Vice Mayor Kathrin Gaal and the City Councilor Peter Hanke, who is responsible for Wiener Linien, gave their vote Danielle Hopes, Director of the Jewish Museum Vienna, and singer-songwriter and ice hockey player Virginia Ernst the starting signal for the “women’s day tram”.
“The women’s day tram is now running with our motto, women. Shape. Future.’ through the city. I am particularly pleased because it is important to make women visible. Strong women as role models encourage girls and young women and show that all opportunities are open to them, ”said Vice Mayor and City Councilor for Women Kathrin Gaal.

The Wiener Linien set will be on the move between Stefan-Fadinger-Platz and Prater Hauptallee for a month. The motto “women. Shape. There is an exciting supporting program on March 8th. The offer ranges from the waff online workshop “Jobfit with Social Media” via an online course on “Women in Technology “ until Programming workshop for girls “Roberta: Girls learn to program playfully using Lego robots”.
The unveiling of the two new boards in the pioneer gallery in the arcade courtyard of the Vienna City Hall via video is also a highlight of the supporting program on March 8th. Starting this year, the gallery will make 24 women visible in their work in and for Vienna. The common thread that runs through the exhibition is the goal: Equal rights for women and men.
In the women’s center of the city of Vienna on March 8, everything revolves around the topic “Support for me!
