G7 leaders agree on Russian oil import ban | Financial

The measure was taken in response to the ongoing Russian war in Ukraine. It is still unclear exactly what commitments the G7 members – France, Germany, Canada, Italy, Japan, Great Britain and the United States – have made.

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky also took part in the video conference in which the measure was decided. The US, which was not a major buyer of Russian fuels, has previously banned the import of Russian oil.
