(ANSA) – NAPLES, OCTOBER 19 – The Defense ministers guests of the G7 organized at Palazzo Reale will take home a piece of Naples and, on the final evening of the summit, they will receive a figurine – each with their own likeness – commissioned from the craftsman of Genny Di Virgilio nativity scene. There are nine ‘shepherds’: seven ministers plus representatives of Europe and NATO. Genny Di Virgilio’s workshop was chosen by the organizers of the G7 Defense for its long tradition, in recognition of the ancient art of the nativity scene of San Gregorio Armeno, in the historic center of Naples. “It was an honor for me – he told ANSA of Virgilio, who in the first evening of the summit brought some works to show to the guests, including an ancient scene of the Nativity – to be able to explain to the ministers the art of Neapolitan nativity scene and I hope they will also appreciate their figurines.” In addition to the ‘shepherds’, the ministers were also given a lucky horn like the one shown to the photographers by Minister Crosetto at the opening of the summit.
