Soojin, a member of K-pop girl group (G) I-DLE, denied on Monday that she bullyed her classmates while in college. The allegations against the star are the latest in a snowballing bullying scandal involving celebrities here.
His denial comes two days after someone, who identified as the sister of a bullied victim, accused Soojin of forcing his sister and friends to slap each other and steal money from them. .
Soojin, 22, apologized for causing a stir, but said the accusations were false.
“I thought she (the alleged victim) and I were close friends – I’m ashamed to say it, but there was one time that I cursed her over the phone for repeatedly breaking her promises and her sister scolded me for it, ”Soojin wrote on U CUBE fan community, run by her agency Cube Entertainment. “So I apologized, but after the incident my friend and I went our separate ways. But I never physically intimidated her or stole her things.
She added, “I was one of the students who stood out. There were rumors about me. As a student, I put on inappropriate clothes for school and smoked cigarettes several times out of curiosity, which I no longer do. I think what I have done in the past was the seed of this incident. “
In response to another rumor that she also harassed actress Seo Shin-ae while the two were attending the same school – Waw Middle School in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province – Soojin said she never even spoke with the actress.
After the issue of his alleged harassment came to the fore, Seo, in a mysterious post, wrote: “None of your apologies” on Instagram.
Despite Soojin’s denial, many people don’t seem to believe her, claiming that the two were not the only ones making such accusations against her.
“There are more people who insist they were victims – why doesn’t Soojin mention them? One user commented.
Soojin made his debut as a member of (G) I-DLE in 2018 with the song “LATATA”. The six-piece act released their fourth EP “I Burn” in January.
