G-Data: ‘Microsoft signed driver that sends traffic to Chinese IP address’ – IT Pro – News

a Chinese IP address that, according to the WHOIS website, belongs to a Chinese company that the US Department of Defense says may be associated with the Chinese Communist Party.

So according to a website (1) the IP belongs to a company that according to US defense (2) can be (4) associated with CCP.

That’s 4 layers of assumptions or connections varying in severity that the driver is in the hands of the CCP.

I find number 3 the most exasperating and I see it in so many news items. ‘There is a connection’ ‘he/she is associated with’, I think it means so little; for the same money, an intern put an ironic sticker of CCP on his laptop…
