Alleged truck fire in the Dölzschen tunnel
October 15, 2024, 3:57 p.m. – 4:50 p.m
BAB 17 Prague-Dresden
On the afternoon of October 15th, the Dresden Integrated Regional Control Center was informed of a truck fire in the Dölzschen tunnel. According to the operational plan, a total of 80 emergency services from the professional fire brigade, volunteer fire brigade and the rescue service were immediately alerted and dispatched to the scene. However, the first forces to arrive were quickly able to give the all-clear: it was not a fire, but rather an engine failure that resulted in a leak of operating fluid. The fire brigade secured the scene of the accident and collected the spilled liquids. All other emergency services that were alerted were able to cancel their journey. Traffic came to a temporary standstill in both directions. The site was eventually handed over to the police, who gradually lifted the closures.

BAB 4 Dresden – Erfurt
On the return journey from the scene on the BAB 17, the emergency services from the Albertstadt and Übigau fire and rescue stations, the B service, the Löbtau rescue station and the Cossebaude district fire department were alerted to a traffic accident on the BAB 4. The emergency call was received via an e-call system in the integrated regional control center. For reasons that are still unclear, a Mercedes and a BMW collided not far from the Dresden-West motorway triangle. Two people were injured. The fire brigade secured the scene of the accident, provided initial medical care to the patients and picked up any running out resources. After the injured were handed over to the emergency services, they were transported to hospitals in ambulances. The police have started investigating the cause of the accident.
