Future GTA Online updates will get more content for solo players

Future updates to Grand Theft Auto Online will focus on both single-player gameplay and co-op activities. Last week, Rockstar launched ‘the greatest GTA Online adventure ever’ in the form of The Cayo Perico Heist, a robbery of an exotic island location.

For the first time, the mission will allow players to complete a heist in Grand Theft Auto Online alone or with up to three other players. “It’s something we’ve been working on for quite some time and the community has let us know they are happy to see it,” said Rockstar North design director Scott Butchard in conversation with GQ. “It is something that we would like to continue.”

“We want to respect teams and players who want to play co-op. But at the same time, allow solo players to still get a similar experience out of it. Both have advantages. Going in alone takes 100 percent of the loot with you and it’s a lot easier to do the stealth and plan when you don’t need communication. With other players you can split up and do several things at the same time. I think we’ll be injecting more of those single player elements in the future. ”

Rockstar will release an updated version of GTA V to the in the second half of 2021 PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. There will also be a separate version of GTA Online, which will be available for free for PS5 owners for the first three months.
