Future Fabrics Expo, new roadmap for 2021: digital in March and physical in October

The pandemic re-marks the fair calendar and Future Fabrics Expo is no exception. LThe fair, which had its tenth edition scheduled for January 29 and 30, has just announced the new dates. A structured proposal, exceptionally, in three different months: March, June and October.

For this coming March, the textile event has scheduled its Future Fabrics Virtual Expo, the digital version of the fair, which is usually held in London. In this way, visitors can have direct online access to Future Fabrics Expo exhibitors.

The next physical event is planned for June in London, natural habitat of the fair. It is the Future Fabrics Expo 9½, which will include a series of open days at its London headquarters and live presentations in the exhibition hall, but adapted to the protocol that marks the restrictions of the pandemic. This special June edition will also feature online talks and videoconferences, workshops and master classes with the fair’s partners and experts.

The main course will take place in October. Future Fabric Expo is scheduled to hold its tenth edition that month, although exact dates have yet to be announced, pending the evolution of Covid19. What has confirmed Sustaintable Angle, organizer of the contest, is that it will take place in “a larger and more suitable place for new flows of people”.

Sustainable Angle has also advanced that the fair will have a much more powerful digital dimension, according to the new situation derived from the pandemic. This commitment to digital will take shape in an online connection system between the more than 150 regular providers and visitors.

Further, has launched EduSeries, a set of educational resources for university teachers and course teachers specialized in giving tools to their students so that they know and value the environmental impacts in the use of materials and the most sustainable alternatives.

Future Fabrics Eco was born nine years ago, by the hand of a non-profit organization, The Sustainable Angle, committed to sustainability in key sectors of the economy: fashion, food, industry and agriculture. It aims to help companies in making decisions about the use of materials with a low environmental impact and the search for alternatives.
