From September, and for two years, the southern branch of Capeb 38, located on the Jean-Jaurès course, in Échirolles, will move a few kilometers. It will be installed in the Afpa building in Pont-de-Claix.
“We’ll be 3 km south on the same track”announces Laurent Marmonier, co-president with Virginie Guichard of the Confederation of trades and small construction industries (Capeb) Isère. Initially installed in a building linked to the defunct viscose industry, the union took advantage of support encouraging companies to renovate rather than build, within the framework of law Zero Net Artificialization (ZAN). The co-president called on his network of partners to find a solution during the reconstruction and reconstruction work carried out by the developer Promalpa. The next open days on September 27 will therefore be held in the re-housing building, which is located at the Afpa center in Pont-de-Claix. When finished, the construction site of the new “Carré Jaurès” in Échirolles will have 65 housing units and 550 m² of offices. Enough to welcome members of the Capeb 38 in better conditions.
An important era
For Laurent Marmonier, the construction sector has reached a turning point since the arrival of a legislative arsenal in 2020. ZAN law, water management, RE 2020, “This requires a change in the habits of our members, with the need to improve initial and ongoing training”analyzing the president of the union of Isère. To support them in this “transition period”Capeb 38 regularly organizes workshops on energy saving in buildings, or on water management issues and practices.
New markets
Constraints or opportunities? For Laurent Marmonier, the mindset of artisans must be optimistic. According to him, these new regulations are opportunities to conquer new markets. “A business leader who puts the energy and invests in reorienting himself will do well”. And to cite the example of a small business in Isère after choosing selective reconstruction. Although it requires extra effort, freelancers and small businesses benefit from being more flexible with a very good level of training. “Businesses need to evolve, and craft businesses have a lot of potential for this,” confirming the latter.
