Future Apple Watch could measure stress and prevent panic attacks

With watchOS 7, Apple Watch could detect user stress and panic attacks, according to Max Winebach of the site XDA and Filip Koroy, from the YouTube channel EveryApplePro. The connected watch would “learn” from these episodes and the associated symptoms, before and after the crisis. The goal is to identify panic attacks before they occur, so that the user can take appropriate action (such as breathing exercises). The wearer would also have the possibility of indicating the nature of the symptoms, in order to improve the accuracy of the alert.

The notification would look like the one Apple Watch sends when it finds a heart rate that is too low or too high for a while. According to the sources of our two leakers, this project could require up to two years of development for Apple to succeed: perhaps this function will only be available with watchOS 8, in 2021. Despite everything, it could be offered to from the Apple Watch Series 4.

This in any case would strengthen the status of the Apple Watch’s health monitoring device. In addition to the rest already present (heart rate, noise, ECG, etc.), the next version of the watch could also measure the quality of sleep.
