Benfica will face Barcelona this Friday afternoon, starting at 7 pm, in the second semi-final of the futsal Champions League, at Arena Riga, in Latvia.
The Spanish team, which counts on the Portuguese fixed André Coelho, is a losing finalist of the last edition – they lost to Sporting – and has already won the title on three occasions, in 2012, 2014 and 2020 (the first two against Dinamo Moscow and last against ElPozo Murcia). Barcelona were also beaten finalists in 2015, against Kairat Almaty.
For Benfica, European champions in 2010 against Inter Movistar, it is the chance to reach the final of the competition for the second time, and 12 years later. If that happens, it will be the first 100% Portuguese final in the futsal Champions League: Sporting, current holders of the title, defeated ACCS, of Portuguese Ricardinho, in the first semi-final.
