Furtwangen: Again calls from the wrong police officer in Furtwangen – attempts at fraud failed thoroughly

In several cases, a fraudster pretended to be a police officer on the phone at around 11 a.m. on Friday. She called three women and called “Kriminalpolizei, Frau Bachmann”. Under the pretext that the person called had been broken into in the neighborhood, the fake detective tried to talk to her alleged victims
to entangle. However, this failed thoroughly, as the people called questioned the phone call critically in all cases. The caller had to break off her attempt at fraud and hang up.

The police are again warning of this recurring variant of fraud, which also includes the so-called “grandchild’s trick”. In the case of suspicious calls, the called party should end the call in case of doubt and call the police directly back immediately.
