Energie Steiermark and Energie Graz will raise their electricity and gas prices on 1 January 2023. Both providers refer to the electricity price brake, which is expected to apply from December, and support options.
Energy Graz cites price increases, pandemics and war as reasons for raising electricity and gas prices on January 1, 2023.
Rain of requests – customer service is strengthened
For customers, this means an average of 37 euros more per month for gas, 35 for electricity – whereby, according to Energie Graz, the brake on the price of electricity, which according to the Confederation will come into effect from December, should ensure that electricity customers only have to meet a small additional charge.
Inquiries from Energie Graz’s customers have increased significantly – and not surprisingly – in recent weeks, he said. For this reason, Energie Graz is now strengthening its customer service, which provides information on support options such as the hardship fund or the Caritas campaign entitled “Energy against poverty”.
Energie Steiermark offers goodwill solutions
Energie Steiermark said it also offered people affected by energy poverty 18-month interest-free installment contracts and made goodwill solutions possible. Because Energie Steiermark is also raising its prices from 1 January: For electricity customers, this means an additional cost of three euros on average per month, for gas customers it is 33 euros.
According to Energie Steiermark, there will be no further price increases for electricity customers in the coming year and for PV system operators the feed-in tariffs will have increased by around 100% at the beginning of the year.
