Furious scavengers scolded until Satpol PP is stabbed

Scavengers in Pasar Rebo area, East Jakarta, anger stab a member Sapol PP named Norman. The sweeper looked annoyed at being scolded Sapol PP.

The stabbing occurred on Thursday (15/12/2022), at around 10.30am WIB. Initially Norman and his colleagues saw the perpetrator sitting by the side of the road holding a knife.

“Sweeper perpetrator was sitting by the roadside carrying a sack and knife stuck in his right waist. Witness and victim got off their motorcycle and approached the perpetrator and warned them not to sit by the roadside above unloading,” Pasar Rebo Police Chief Kompol Agung Ardiansyah said when contacted on Friday (16/12).

Norman and his colleagues, concerned that the perpetrator was carrying a knife, again appealed to the scavengers. However, the perpetrator drew his knife and assaulted the victim.

“Suddenly the attacker stood up and pulled out a knife he had on his right waist while waving it,” Agung said.

Norman and his partner then tried to stay away from the perpetrator for a while. He tried to contact Social Services to come to the scene.

“I didn’t have time to contact the social services agency, the perpetrator suddenly approached the victim and testified across the street while angry, spitting and attacking the victim,” Agung said.

Norman had fought. Armed with a wooden block by the roadside, the victim attempted to drop the knife the attacker was holding.

The perpetrator also tried to assault the victim. The knife he was holding then managed to stab Norman’s body.

“The perpetrator continued to struggle and the knife that was being carried by the perpetrator struck the victim’s left arm and left back,” Agung explained.

The perpetrator was arrested after a number of residents of the place helped. The perpetrator was then taken to the Pasar Rebo police station for questioning.
