A large group of PC gamers are furious against those who ordered Starfield. Cause? They don’t trust Bethesda, and given the problems with many PC versions of the latest games (think The Callisto Protocol, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor or The Last of Us Part 1, to name but a few), they feel no one else should. make pre-orders to send a signal to publishers.
Post on this subject Reddit, literally explodes with comments, of which there are currently more than 2k. The headline is certainly revealing and immediately gets the point across: “Why do people pre-order? Haven’t we learned our lesson?”
The comments noted that Starfield has been among the best-selling games on Steam since pre-orders opened, showing that gamers have not figured out how to be heard due to the issues that many games have experienced in recent months.
Many participants in the discussion, however, noted that this is one of the most anticipated games of the last few years, and also pointed out that online discussions often do not represent the whole world of video games. For example, one comment might read: “I just wanted to point out that most people are just unaware of most of the controversy in the video game world and/or don’t care.” Another comment is in the same tone: “Not everyone is on Reddit, a lot of people just don’t care, and some of us are hypocrites.”
