Bola.net – AC Milan’s sporting director, Paolo Maldini, was officially sacked by his favorite team on Tuesday (6/6/2023). Seeing these conditions, Carlo Ancelotti, who had made history at AC Milan, was furious.

Ancelotti still loves AC Milan. But the Real Madrid coach really doesn’t like the policies echoed by the Rossoneri’s new owner, Gerry Cardinale. Ancelotti even gave a bad prayer for AC Milan.
The root of the problem occurred due to differences in views between Maldini and Cardinale. Maldini as sporting director, asked for more funds to bring in experienced players. While Cardinale is reportedly prioritizing potential young players at relatively low prices.
Hearing this reason, Ancelotti became even more furious and prayed that Cardinale’s AC Milan would find failure in the future. “Football clubs that think of prioritizing business over sporting achievements are doomed to fail,” Ancelotti was quoted as saying Football Italia.

Disrespect Legend

Apart from choosing a reckless transfer policy, Ancelotti believes that AC Milan does not respect their legend. Ancelotti feels Maldini is AC Milan’s biggest and proudest legend.
This can be proven from the achievements and loyalty that Maldini gave as a player until he retired. Maldini was even considered an important figure who made AC Milan’s name skyrocket as Europe’s top team.
“In Madrid, I learned that history must always be respected. Here, the exclusive values of Di Stefano, Amancio, Gento and Puskas are respected.”
“What happened to Maldini proves a lack of historic culture and a lack of respect for Milan’s traditions. It’s true you don’t win with history, but history teaches how to win,” said Ancelotti.
Maldini himself only defended AC Milan during his 24 season career as a player. Maldini was even listed as AC Milan’s most successful player with five Champions League trophies and seven Italian League trophies.
