The French-born British singer, Jane Birkin, will be buried on Monday at the Saint-Roc church in Paris, in a ceremony that will be broadcast on a giant screen that was placed outside the site, according to what was announced Thursday by a source close to the artist who died last Sunday.
The funeral ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10 am (0800 GMT), according to the source, who told AFP, pointing out that entry to the church “will be restricted to family and friends.”
“However, in order to involve the public, the ceremony will be broadcast live on a giant screen at the intersection of Saint-Thonoret and Pyramide avenues,” the source added.
Singer, actress and fashion icon Jane Birkin was found dead Sunday at her home in the French capital.
The news of Birkin’s death sparked an outpouring of tributes. Her daughters, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Le Doyon, paid tribute to their mother’s “fierce battle” against the disease.
